But hold on just a second. If Aguilera really died today, wouldn’t CNN and TMZ and other mainstream media outlets be all over the story? Why, yes. Yes they would.

And a few Twitter users erroneously believe that is precisely what happened:

If you actually look at TMZ’s Twitter feed, there’s nothing about Aguilera there.

The “CNN” feed cited above is a bogus account (zero tweets).
