Pride Month may be over, but these days, is it ever really over? No. No it is not.
And Pride Month may have once been about celebrating the gay community and acknowledging not only their existence but their contributions to society, but these days, the gay community has had to cede Pride Month to other members of the Alphabet Brigade for whom the notions of homosexuality and bisexuality are almost quaint. "Remember when you were either heterosexual or homosexual? That was, like, so boring! Polyamorous trans nonbinary people are where it's at now, and Pride Month should be about them. Screw those regular gays and lesbians! They still believe that men and women are different, those squares!"
Anyway, as long as Pride Month is going to continue to be celebrated all year long, the radical LGBTQIA2+ community and their dumb allies are going to keep looking for ways to extend it. March 31 is International Trans Day of Visibility, which we weren't aware was necessary as trans people are plenty visible. And yesterday, thanks to GLAAD, we learned that this week is Nonbinary Awareness Week:
Happy #NonBinaryAwarenessWeek! This week is meant to celebrate nonbinary people everywhere. pic.twitter.com/vMNctZwLSV

Wow! A whole month and a whole week? That's even better than what trans people get!
In all honesty, I hadn't been totally sure what I was going to do this week, but now I know that I should be using my time to reflect on other people's chosen gender identities and how that might or might not be reflected in their genitals. Time well spent, obviously.

Still can’t imagine making my entire personality based around who I like to connect genitals with.

Well, that's what this week is for. This week is for you to imagine basing your personality around whom you like to connect genitals with. And it's already Tuesday. It's Day 2! Which means you'd better get crackin', Kaya!
Why is trans surgery only to male or female if there is no binary?
— Magills (@magills_) July 10, 2023
OK, now, see, that's not the kind of reflection you're supposed to be doing right now, Magills. You're reflecting a little too hard, because you're crossing into biology territory and biology is not supposed to be a consideration in any discussions of sex or gender. Let's dial it back a little, OK?
As I Binary, I show my allyship by telling anyone whose gender isn’t obvious, to me, “I’m aware of you.” Many initially look confused because they clearly aren’t used to being treated equally. 🥰

That's more like it. Well done, Hollaria. If only more people understood it as well as you do. Alas:
Treating not liking being either male or female as some sort of special identity seems like a huge insult to any actual civil rights struggle. https://t.co/MqMjpTpmNk

Tsk, tsk, Frank ... that tweet makes it sound like you're criticizing the notion of a nonbinary gender. And that's not what this week is supposed to be about. Why so closed-minded and intolerant, sir? Although, you know, the more I look at it, the more sense it makes. Guys, maybe I shouldn't be trying to validate people who think there's such a thing as being "nonbinary." Maybe these stunningly brave people who are for some strange desperately seeking the validation of old-fashioned folks like me who still believe that as a general there are only two sexes are only stunningly brave in their willingness to take giant steps backwards in both science and civil rights.
I stand corrected! And now I can stand here and tell GLAAD and all these allegedly "nonbinary" awareness-raisers to pipe down and actually act like they're after acceptance and normalcy and not figuratively rub their junk in our faces.
