Twitchy loves to give CNN a hard time for doing crappy journalism and just in general being wrong about, well, pretty much everything there is to be wrong about. But shouldn't we also give them credit when they report something that's true? Of course we should.
And that's why I'm totally comfortable giving CNN credit today for bringing the world a piece of news that is totally accurate. No, seriously! They have something true to tell us. Of course, in this particular case, they aren't really bringing us the news, per se. More like "DUH" news.
Prepare to be shocked ... by the fact that CNN felt this was something they needed to tell us at all:
A new study shows a striking link between the support that dads offer and better infant outcomes https://t.co/tsCisoXaZ7

Whaaaaaaaaaat? Wait just a minute, now ... you mean to tell us that it's important for babies to have engaged, hands-on dads?! When did this happen?

Fathers can play an active role, ensuring mothers have food to eat and a comfortable place to breastfeed, and they can help with other household work to give moms the time and space to breastfeed their child.
[Study author Dr. John James Parker] urged fathers to continue breaking down the barriers on roles that society typically assigns to men and women.
“We’ve made a lot of progress, promoting the importance of women in the workplace,” Parker said. “And I think to continue that — and for it to be as accessible — we need to have fathers who are equal parents and contributing in many ways at home.”
CNN's write-up about this study is interesting and whatnot, but what it never really makes clear to the reader is why anyone needed a study to confirm what most moms and dads already knew and have known for millennia.
How about somebody give me some grant money and I'll do a study that finds that mint-chocolate-chip ice cream is disgusting and no one should ever eat it. Don't worry — I'll make sure to use science-y words when I publish my results, just to make it all legit.
A cohesive family unit is good for kids. Fascinating study overturning years of confusion amongst no one. https://t.co/Kwca2vP3L3

We, too, would be happy to get paid for reporting on stuff that literally everyone knows already.
But really, good for you, CNN, for catching up to the rest of us on this.
Striking!

Said no one that lives in reality.

I guess masculinity isn’t so toxic after all. 🤷♂️

Good to know.
Thoughts and prayers for you guys finally acknowledging this since destroying the traditional family has been one of your agendas for quite some time.

Ooo ... ouch. It hurts because it's true, though.
