OK, don’t get me wrong: I think Democratic Sen. John Fetterman is a huge jerk. He was evidently a lousy Mayor of Braddock and a lousy Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor, and that business about him targeting a black-owned business and chasing down a black jogger with a shotgun doesn’t really endear him to me.
That said, I can’t help but feel kinda sorry for the guy. Like, here’s a man who suffered a massive stroke a year ago and still suffers from obvious physical and cognitive impairments as a result ad aside from that is just in poor health general. His campaign should’ve ended as soon as he had the stroke, but his greedy shrew of a wife wanted to be Mrs. Senator Fetterman more than she wanted her husband to get the care he needed, and the MSM wanted him to be Senator Fetterman more than they wanted him to get the care he needed. And so here he is, in the U.S. Senate, and here I am, feeling bad for an unlikable guy.
Anyway, while a lot of media types at least sort of backed off on the whitewashing of Fetterman’s health and the hagiographies once he was sworn in as a senator. But evidently MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough wasn’t one of them. Check out the tongue bath he gave to Fetterman in a recent one-on-one interview:
.@JoeNBC: “Did you get inspiration from people like Lincoln & Churchill who struggled with depression — ?" @JohnFetterman: "Yeah"
Scarborough: " — their whole lives & yet fought through it & changed the world?” pic.twitter.com/OoH3CiFBlT

Abraham Lincoln. Winston Churchill. And John Fetterman rounds out the trifecta of inspirational statesmen.

Damn , I could not think of who Fetterman reminded me of. Thank you.
It was Lincoln— Michaelpwilke (@michaelpwilke) May 9, 2023
Surprised more aren’t making the Churchill-Fetterman comparison https://t.co/kLgzVyPyvW

Well, maybe that’s going to become a thing now.

But wait! There’s more where that came from:
Fetterman: "There was the social media blowtorch unleashed on my family as well, too, [after the election]. Unleash whatever you want to on me, but, you know, my family, I just can’t imagine anybody that would think it would be funny to make fun of children or whatever." pic.twitter.com/knDVgspuZg

If you look closely, you can see the drool collecting in the corners of Joe’s mouth. Ick.
Interestingly, for me, that interview doesn’t really make me more sympathetic to John Fetterman’s ongoing struggles, and it doesn’t really make me like him. But it does make me like Joe Scarborough even less than before, and that’s a pretty impressive feat. So Joe did accomplish something after all.
What a friggin joke. https://t.co/ZRJvTio7DX

You know what? Joe Scarborough and John Fetterman deserve each other. I hope they’ll live happily ever after.
