Matt Stoller is an author as well as the Director of Research at the American Economic Liberties Project. Sounds pretty impressive, right? At least on paper.
But before you decide that Matt is a totally credible guy, you might want to consider his take on Joe Biden’s presidency.
Because it seems, well, flawed:
Joe Biden is by far the best President of my lifetime and it’s not close.

Huh.
I think you are wrong, but how wrong depends on when you were born
— Mike Stern (@mls1776) December 27, 2022
Is … is Matt two years old? Because that’s really the only possible logical explanation we can come up with for why he’d ever say something like that and actually mean it.
Obama was a truly horrific leader. Joe Biden is not bad.
— Matt Stoller (@matthewstoller) December 27, 2022
We can agree that President Barack Obama sucked, but by what conceivable metrics is President Joe Biden “not bad”?
One of Joe Biden's strengths is there's no cult of personality around him. No one thinks he's the savior. He makes mistakes, big ones sometimes, but also does good things. His dog bites people. He's a weird old man, with mostly reasonable priorities.
— Matt Stoller (@matthewstoller) December 27, 2022
He may be a career politician with a decades-long record of lying about his education and political background and family, but hey, who doesn’t make mistakes? And he does good things, too! Good things like … um … *trails off*
And as for all the racist stuff he’s been saying for years and the senility and the creeping on women and girls … he’s just a weird old man with mostly reasonable priorities!
Does Matt hear himself? Or is he just not capable of feeling any shame?
He’s not accelerating war withdrawal, and he’s escalating in Ukraine. Not to mention all the anti working class woke stuff, like CRT and COVID.
— Andrew Kloster (@ARKloster) December 27, 2022
He could do a lot better. But he withdrew us from Afghanistan, with nearly everyone in both parties and the national security state opposed to him. And while wokeness matters, it is a minor part of what it means to be on the side of the working class.
— Matt Stoller (@matthewstoller) December 27, 2022
Yeah … you think maybe the people who opposed Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal maybe had a point there? You know, given what’s happened in Afghanistan since?
And how about what’s happening in the United States?
The southern border has never been this secure.

Groceries have never been this affordable!
Hitting the sauce a little early on a Tuesday, no?

Hoping this is a joke I'm just not getting
— Michael Heinz (@MGHeinz) December 27, 2022
Well, that’s how we’re going to treat it, anyway.
I do love me some morning comedy 😂😂😂😂😂
