It’s 2022, people. We should be well past the point where the achievements of intelligent and accomplished women are minimized and written off by their backward, knuckle-dragging male coworkers.
And yet, here we are. Or, rather, here’s where Dr. Rachel Zoffness, professor at UCSF School of medicine and lecturer at Stanford University, is:
Just had a male physician colleague refer to me as a "girl."
As in, "I love working with you girls." 😑🤬
I have a PhD. Teach at Stanford & UCSF. Wrote 2 books. On the board of international pain orgs. What will it take to be considered an equal in medicine??? 👎🏼#SoTiredOfThis

We are doctors, not "girls." We are women, not schoolchildren 👧🏻🍭
If confused, call us by our TITLES.💥
Men don't have to ask. Why do we??
BE 👏🏼THE 👏🏼CHANGE 👏🏼
Advocate. 🌟thank you for coming to my @TEDTalks 😑#WomenInMedicine #WomeninScience #MedTwitter #psychtwitter

Don’t affectionately refer to a group of women as “girls.” They are women, sir. Of course, they happen to be women behaving like little girls might behave, with the tantrums and everything. Or at least that seems to be the case for Dr. Zoffness.
You must be a blast to hang out with. https://t.co/BtcxTv639Z

Son: Dad, what's a humorless, self-important hag?

Sounds like that’s Rachel in a nutshell.

Seriously, the male physician colleague should make a point of retracting his compliment. We would if we were him.
CZ Probably when you stop being oversensitive and shallow with a colleague trying to pay a group a sincere compliment. https://t.co/nuzSwltH3P

“I love working with you girls”, is offensive?
Sounds down to earth to me—a place (judging from your self-absorbed, infantile tirade) your ego hasn’t visited for quite some time…
Congratulations on your accomplishments, but how does that make you less female? https://t.co/UNsVHnTawK

It definitely makes her less respectable. Which is in part why we don’t feel like we need to be very accommodating of her requests.
"I love working with you PhDs on the boards of international pain orgs" doesn't quite roll off the tongue. https://t.co/N2ORHwWZ1q

"I love working with you gender scolds."
— Federalist Muskrat 🇺🇸 (@Muskrat__) November 17, 2022
OK, see, that would’ve been great.
"Wow they let chicks in here now??"
— Federalist Muskrat 🇺🇸 (@Muskrat__) November 17, 2022
OK, now that would’ve been even better.
"I love working with you people who menstruate."
— Federalist Muskrat 🇺🇸 (@Muskrat__) November 17, 2022
"I love working with you potential abortion recipients!"
— Federalist Muskrat 🇺🇸 (@Muskrat__) November 17, 2022
Shall we keep going, Rachel? Or would you maybe like to calm down? Or at least try smiling more?
See what we did there?
These are my favorite type of complaints from the liberal elites. It makes me grateful for them that their lives are so blessed that their wildest complaint is a man referring to them fondly. We live in a great country. https://t.co/8jj7iDIHUO
