Back in February of 2019, Candace Owens found herself in the familiar position of being in hot water, in this case over comments she made about Adolf Hitler. If you need a refresher:

Owens was quick to blame BuzzFeed and lefty journalists for the ensuing blowback, but she must have been choosing to overlook all the disgust from Republicans and conservatives.
Anyway, we’d like to think that she’d have learned a lesson or two from that whole experience, but we’d be deluding ourselves. She’s already downplayed, i.e. effectively defended, Kanye West and Kyrie Irving’s recent outbursts of antisemitism, and yesterday, she was back on the subject of Hitler:
Candace Owens: "If you actually go on Amazon right now, you can order and read Mein Kampf. It is not an endorsement of Adolf Hitler to read a historical textbook" pic.twitter.com/l4BawvXEDv

Since when is “Mein Kampf” a historical textbook, Candace?
Textbook?

Textbook?

You heard her.
'textbook' https://t.co/SVSpdDPpqG

Did @RealCandaceO just call Mein Kampf a “historical textbook”? Get help. Stat. https://t.co/yqkcxWouol

Whether or not you agree with her take on censorship, Mein Kampf is not a "historical textbook."
— Eitan Fischberger (@EFischberger) November 10, 2022
It can be considered historical, because, you know, Hitler wrote it and went on to wage a genocidal campaign against the Jews. But “textbook” implies it has some value as an objective educational tool, and that’s just not the case. At all.
Mein Kampf isn't a historical textbook. Does she mean "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich?" Because Mein Kampf is just the ramblings of a lunatic. At least RFTR dissects it in historical context. https://t.co/yFnLtQ6SQk

If Candace is looking for more suggestions as to actual textbooks, we’re sure we can come up with others for her. “Mein Kampf” will not be on the list.
Somehow with each new comment @RealCandaceO reaches new heights of inane apologism. If a famous NBA player tweeted a link to Mein Kampf with an enthusiastic endorsement, that is clearly not the same thing as Amazon having the book in its inventory https://t.co/lcfI0SIWVb

Candace Owens stop talking about Jews and Hitler challenge. https://t.co/3g7MrbzoQK

She probably lost while you were still typing that tweet.
Her inability to shut up is legendary. She could literally talk about anything else and she keeps doubling down. https://t.co/YP45Iv6CJh
