James Gunn and Chris Pratt have been pretty hot topics of conversation lately, thanks to “Guardians of the Galaxy” director Gunn coming to Pratt’s defense over the latest episode in a series of the Outrage Mob coming for Pratt. Much like cicadas, the Outrage Mob returns periodically and predictably to call for Pratt’s head on a platter over his — gasp! — faith and — double gasp! — suspected conservative politics.
Marvel. Hear me out. Just… replace him. pic.twitter.com/g4pfZ9ni7s

In this particular case, HuffPost seems only too happy to help carry all those torches and pitchforks:
Given how Chris Pratt is set to voice what feels like every animated character in a slew of upcoming franchises, job security likely isn’t top of mind.
But he at least has confirmation that “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn’s got his back: https://t.co/dIIcD2RAl6

Responding to a viral tweet calling for Marvel to replace the actor with Patrick Wilson, Gunn said he would “never” oust Pratt, who is set to reunite with the director in a third “Guardians” film next year. https://t.co/dIIcD2RAl6 pic.twitter.com/EkyquzN7iQ

“For what? Because of your made-up, utterly-false beliefs about him? For something that someone else told you about him that’s not true?” Gunn wrote. “Chris Pratt would never be replaced as Star-Lord but, if he ever was, we would all be going with him.” pic.twitter.com/KoGlpI2Msd

Pratt has fielded plenty of backlash in recent years over his rumored political affiliation ― he sparked controversy ahead of the 2020 presidential election for mocking the importance of voting. https://t.co/wkJvUc1zU6

“Over his rumored political affiliation.” We’d ask what the hell HuffPost means by that, but it’s pretty obvious.
I am confused. What exactly did Pratt say or do?

He failed to be a Hollywood evangelist for leftism, which is unacceptable in HuffPost’s eyes. It’s practically criminal to them.
These people are incredible. https://t.co/IdmUcIt4GV

“Rumored party affiliation”
JFC
McCarthy would be proud.

No kidding.
Remember how back in the 40's/50's Hollywood had a witch hunt for communists and blacklisted a bunch of filmmakers and everyone looked back and said "wow that was fundamentally un-American, let's never do anything like that again!"….? Guess this is what progress looks like.

It’s really effing creepy how badly some lefties — and lefty journos, who should for sure know better — are gunning for Chris Pratt. They’ll literally stop at nothing to defame him and get him blacklisted, despite the fact that the one thing he’s notorious for is being a genuinely good dude, not just in Hollywood, but in general.
The actor has largely stayed out of the political fray, having stated that he doesn’t feel represented by Dems or the GOP.
He also came under fire for his past connections to churches that have a history of discriminating against the LGBTQ community.

We have deleted a previous tweet in this thread, which linked to a 2019 story that included Elliot Page's deadname. We regret the error.
— HuffPost (@HuffPost) April 29, 2022
That’s what HuffPost regrets? Referring to the actor formerly known as Ellen Page by Ellen Page? That, but not feeding into the baseless narrative that Chris Pratt is some right-wing nutjob bigot?
imagine cutting someone off completely based off politcal affliation/ differences.

HuffPost isn’t just imagining it … they’re straight-up fantasizing about it. They’d love nothing more than to see Chris Pratt run out on a rail over his private beliefs that he’s never tried to impose on anyone else.
He hasn't "fielded plenty of backlash."
A bunch of people who have no effect on anyone or anything complained about him on the internet.
That's it.

If anyone should be blacklisted, it’s garbage rags like HuffPost, who have absolutely nothing positive to contribute to society. It’s not as if anyone worth a damn would miss them.
