On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the U.S. State Department posted this inspirational quote from Kamala Harris:
.@VP on injustice: "Here's the truth: Racism exists in America. Xenophobia exists in America. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, it all exists. The work to address injustice wherever it exists remains the work ahead." pic.twitter.com/QTCAQ6hERy

As the New York Post points out, the quote was taken from Harris’ remarks last May when Joe Biden signed the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act into law.
Well, earlier this week, just shy of a month after the U.S. State Department’s tweet, the U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran decided to share the same message:
.@VP: حقیقت این است: تبعیض نژادی در آمریکا وجود دارد. بیگانه ستیزی در آمریکا وجود دارد. یهود ستیزی، اسلام هراسی، همجنسگرا هراسی، ترنس هراسی، همه وجود دارند. رسیدگی به بی عدالتی هرکجا که باشد، فعالیت پیش روست. pic.twitter.com/mF14nwl9CZ

Apparently the purpose of the U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran is to crap on America in Farsi.
The U.S. embassy in **Iran** shared this Kamala Harris quote (rough translation): “The truth is: there is racial discrimination in America. There is xenophobia in America. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia … all exist. Tackling injustice wherever it is, activity is ahead.” https://t.co/W2sninQlfE

That’s lovely, isn’t it?

At least she didn't mention the Crusades. Or Thermopylae.

Thank goodness for small favors.
And maybe the U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran was hoping that no one would remember that racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, and homophobia are de facto policies of the Iranian government.
Great work all around!
Now, to be fair, as far as we know, the virtual embassy didn’t share Harris’ remarks at her behest. But still, this is a very bad look for them, Kamala Harris, and ultimately for us. The fact that she made such remarks in the first place is pretty gross, and all she did was provide ammo to any entity trying to make the U.S. look bad.
Something I expect from a whiny college student, not the Vice President of the United States https://t.co/jt66Ma8XvG

No doubt about that.
