Being asked by the president to serve as HHS secretary is a tremendous honor, and it brings with it tremendous responsibility.
When Xavier Becerra was tapped by Joe Biden for the job, he was presumably aware of what the job would entail. Or maybe he wasn’t.
Because it seems that Becerra wasn’t even aware that he was on the radar:

It actually kinda make sense that this would all come out of left field for Becerra, given that was a former congressman and was currently serving as California AG and he really hadn’t ever given anyone the impression that he had any business being HHS secretary.
But still. We’re no politicians or anything, but we feel like this makes Becerra look lost and makes the Biden administration look, well, pretty inept.
