Despite the federal government’s best efforts, billionaires still exist. At least for now.
And that really, really sticks in Robert Reich’s craw. See, he’s loaded, but he hasn’t achieved billionaire status.
And that’s why he has such “a problem with this picture”:
By the way, 131 new billionaires were created during an economically-catastrophic pandemic. Does anyone else see a problem with this picture?
— Robert Reich (@RBReich) October 25, 2021
Wow. People managed to become billionaires in the midst of an economy-crippling pandemic? Robert seems genuinely shocked by this development.
That government lockdowns harmed the average person while the most creative and industrious thrive no matter the conditions? https://t.co/GeVnal0OdL

Democrats eliminated a lot of their mom n pop competition, Bobby. https://t.co/lhQizixMxJ

And how many lively hoods were destroyed by stupid or authoritarian government policy? https://t.co/sObrux8SUa

You supported the policies that made that possible. https://t.co/pHCnPqDaHJ

You mean the billionaires Democrats in blue states created when they locked down their states but allowed major corporations to stay open? Destroying thousands of small businesses and putting millions of Americans out of work?
Yes, I see a problem with that. https://t.co/vb15jpqUB0
— 🎃The🐰BOO👻 (@PolitiBunny) October 26, 2021
That’s because democrats shut down all of the small businesses. Read up on “cause and effect.” https://t.co/C9Hjp3828q

They became rich off the backs of bankrupted small businesses forced into closure by the lockdowns, then by the labor shortages and now by vaccine mandates, while your ilk cheered on.
You declared a war on the middle class and are now upset that the rich became richer? https://t.co/kGRAOuvfhh— Rising serpent 🇺🇸 (@rising_serpent) October 26, 2021
The government responded to the pandemic by handing out $5 trillion, you are a naive boob if you think it only went to the poor and needy https://t.co/sb7Qp0tSDv
— Oilfield Rando (@Oilfield_Rando) October 26, 2021
You could have handed out $10,000 stimulus checks and it wouldn’t have come remotely close to compensating for the damage done to the economy and small business by the insane government response to coronavirus.
— Oilfield Rando (@Oilfield_Rando) October 26, 2021
Yes. But you’ll completely lose all interest as soon as they donate money to the DNC. https://t.co/YwVwmTgJsk

Good point.
The biggest problem is that I wasn’t one of them.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) October 26, 2021
That’s exactly what Robert Reich’s problem is, too!
But there’s still a silver lining for him:
I think it’s great. You now have 131 more people you can harass and denigrate as you punish and vilify the successful. https://t.co/PeIifjfljl
— Ms. Dino (@PattyLott19) October 26, 2021
So at least Robert’s got that.
