An idea whose time has come: One side effect of the COVID19 pandemic has been the growth of charter schools

COVID19 made things worse in so many ways, but if there’s been one silver lining, it’s that parents have become even more acutely aware of the damage done by public sector teachers’ unions.

So many children lost a year of schooling due to shutdowns and teachers’ union campaigns against in-person teaching, suffering not just academically, but also socially, emotionally, and mentally. COVID19 blew the lid off of the toxicity that infects so much of the public school system.

And as a result of that, parents have taken notice and taken steps to protect their kids from further harm. That’s why, as traditional public schools struggle, charter schools are thriving:

You genuinely love to see it.

One important note:

Other public schools could learn a great deal from charter schools.
