Late last month, George Takei came out swinging in favor of employer vaccine mandates.
A lot of people are angry that employer vaccine mandates are coming. I don’t care. We need to do this for the good of all. The asserted freedoms of the willfully unvaccinated do not outweigh the needs of society nor the right of employers to keep the virus out of the workplace.

Takei’s argument was troubling for several reasons, such as the fact that as a former prisoner in an internment camp, one would think he’d be a little more wary of sweeping actions done in the name of protecting society.
Anyway, he’s still very much in favor of vaccine mandates. And because of that, he’s suggesting that patients be able to refuse treatment by any medical personnel who claim religious exemptions to vaccine requirements:
If certain medical workers are allowed to claim they are exempt from vaccine requirements due to their religious objections, we should be allowed to refuse treatment by them due to our scientific objections.

OK.
He makes a valid point! https://t.co/LIn8eApseG

No he doesn’t.
We weren’t aware that a patient needs a reason to seek treatment elsewhere.
Apparently @GeorgeTakei doesn’t already know you have always been able to refuse treatment by any provider😂😂😂
Epic fail on making Covid political. 🙄 https://t.co/spv5J78PjI

Hey George anyone can refuse medical treatment at anytime for any reason. It’s called against medical advice AMA just thought I would let you know it already exist idiot https://t.co/EoG2wcEeOI

You are not obligated to accept medical treatment from any healthcare provider you moron. https://t.co/sdINHXQxXi

You are already free to refuse medical treatment for any reason you wish. It’s called bodily autonomy. See how that works? https://t.co/gNmZS9eBya pic.twitter.com/ZAw8Z2Jbav

But aside from that, George’s tweet is just plain stupid.
Bad take, sir. https://t.co/yQLxmcza6Z

What science would support that?
Cite your sources, clown. https://t.co/kuH3B07bq8

If you're experiencing a cardiac arrest, you won't be able to inquire about your medical workers' vaccination status.
And if you somehow did, and refused treatment, you'd die, and their vaccination status wouldn't matter.. https://t.co/D3SadRW0TS

George's biggest medical concern should be his bitter, delusional thinking, not Covid. https://t.co/EV1QsCpuhA

Anyway, if George wants to make sure he’s safe, there’s really only one way to do it:
Maybe we could put them in camps. https://t.co/u5DDw6bE0A

I have a better idea. I'm sure you'll like it.
Let's round up all the unvaccinated and put them in internment camps.
You like? https://t.co/cfWwxY9Fi0

What do you think, George?
