A little bit of good news to perk up your Black Friday … if you needed some.
The pride of Iran’s nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, has reportedly been assassinated:
Breaking News: Iran’s top nuclear scientist was fatally shot in northern Iran, state media reported. He was seen as the force behind its nuclear weapons program. https://t.co/5sG7mqJA0i

BREAKING: Iranian media reporting that high level nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh has been assassinated. Widely referred to as Iran’s Robert Oppenheimer. He is by far the most important Iranian nuclear scientist to be assassinated to date. Netanyahu had mentioned him by name

Fakhrazideh was not the best of dudes.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh wasn't Robert Oppenheimer; he was Kurt Diebner. He was head of the secretive SPND organization where Iranian nuclear weapons scientists carry out R&D activities. Importantly, these activities continued during the Iran nuclear deal. They continue today. 1/3

When you consider SPND’s existence, Iran's concealment of a secret nuclear weapons archive AND the IAEA reporting Iran is today concealing undeclared nuclear material, the world must face the truth. We don’t face a JCPOA crisis due to Trump; we face an NPT crisis due to Iran. 2/3

A day when a powerful state sponsor of terrorism like Iran takes a hit is a good day.
Boom!!! Great news to start the day. ???? @JoeSilverman7 https://t.co/F1e38pWCMK

We have no doubt that some of the Obama administration’s brightest stars are currently in mourning, rending their garments and everything.
And we can confirm with certainty that Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif is beside himself:
Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today. This cowardice—with serious indications of Israeli role—shows desperate warmongering of perpetrators
Iran calls on int'l community—and especially EU—to end their shameful double standards & condemn this act of state terror.
— Javad Zarif (@JZarif) November 27, 2020
We don’t know whether or not Israel had anything to do with it. But keep in mind that Israel is the root of all evil, according to reasonable people like Javad Zarif.

cry harder, you damn terrorist https://t.co/zsET1eUJ02

Maybe the international community will “condemn this act of terror.” After all, much of the international community hates Israel and has no problem with Iran’s desires to wipe it off the map.
But if Zarif is looking for sympathy, he’s gonna have to look a little harder around here.

Still, though, it’s possible he’ll find the right tree and start barking loudly enough.

Really throws a wrench in the plans Biden had for his cabinet. https://t.co/L6Po7MhSPC

Maybe for now. We’ll see what happens in a few months.
Team Biden can't pretend that the Iran Deal prevented Iran’s nuclear weapons advancement. Nor can it pretend that Iran can return to compliance with that flawed deal without addressing all outstanding questions about the archive, SPND and undeclared material and activities. 3/3

Watch them try to pretend anyway.
