As Twitchy told you earlier, Vox troll Aaron Rupar was triggered by James Gagliano pointing out that the “AR” in “AR-15” does not, in fact, stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” Because apparently facts just aren’t that important to some Real Journalists.
Imagine trying to tell someone whose loved one was gunned down by an AR-15 that they don’t know what they’re talking about because they aren’t familiar with arcane gun terminology. It’s just absurd. https://t.co/MfLpKFLB3z

Well, for what it’s worth, Ryan Petty understands what it’s like to have a loved one gunned down by an AR-15, or rather by someone using an AR-15. Petty’s daughter Alaina was among those killed in the Parkland shooting last year. And unlike Aaron, he understands the importance of accuracy in gun reporting:
I am that someone.
Precision in language is vital. As a journalist this should not be an arcane concept for you. https://t.co/0M6OjFxCM5

Maybe Aaron’s not such a great journalist after all.
