Plenty of people are calling out Chris Cuomo for likening “Fredo” to the N-word. But not Neera Tanden. See, unlike the rest of us, Neera understands what a slur “Fredo” is. Here, let her explain:
People who tell you it’s ok to call an Italian man Fredo are the same people who said it was ok to throw money at a woman leader and call her a whore. And they never think about the energy they take rationalizing the denigration of others.

Speaking of never thinking …
She just defended Castro targeting private citizens for donating to Trump. Perhaps she should take a seat. https://t.co/FRaYil88bA

She really did:
This perfectly exemplifies the problem of too few people understanding how targeted people of color feel. It is only in Castro’s quote that you understand people are angry at these Trump supporters because they are propping up his racism, not that he’s a Republican. https://t.co/TrMsgDdPYw

Apparently the NYTimes argument is that it’s entirely right to publish emails stolen by Russia to undermine our democracy – they did it again just a few months ago – but it’s iffy to publish the information of who is donating to campaigns, something important for our democracy.

It’s important to our democracy to target people whose political opinions differ from yours for harassment or worse, but calling Chris Cuomo “Fredo” is just beyond the pale.
Broken. That is totally broken.
— Neera Tanden (@neeratanden) August 9, 2019
No, Neera. You’re broken.
And you really should take a seat.
She is a hypocrite, all around.

Gee, people don't like being personally attacked by strangers for their politics. Who knew.
— Fred-Mo (@molratty) August 13, 2019
I wonder how people feel about being falsely called white supremacists regularly.

"rationalizing the denigration of others."
Neera is just fine with denigration–as long as only *certain* people and groups are denigrated.
