Earlier today, TMZ tweeted about Panthers wide receiver Torrey Smith posing with some feral hogs he’d recently shot and killed:

It’s not clear from their article or even their tweet that TMZ was trying to shame Smith. In fact, the article mentions the out-of-control feral hog population and the damage the animals are causing. But for what it’s worth, just in case anyone’s wondering, Smith doesn’t sound like he’ll be packing for a guilt trip anytime soon:
Guys are staying out of trouble so we need news somewhere. I’m a country boy. I hunt. I eat what I shoot. This is not a story. Just be happy that you aren’t a hog or I’d come for y’all too ? https://t.co/ar1ELJwScZ

SportsCenter cohost Sage Steele’s giving Smith props for doing his part to fix a serious problem:
Love this, and love your response! We’re eating the elk & deer venison my husband hunted last fall for dinner tonight, bring the fam & stop by!

Mind if we come, too?
You shouldn't have to explain anything to anyone.

Never apologize for hunting! You’ve got an army behind you. Anyway the industry can help, let us know. ?
