Earlier this week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got her designer panties in a twist because GOP Sen. Mike Lee had the temerity to mock and criticize her precious Green New Deal:
Like many other women + working people, I occasionally suffer from impostor syndrome: those small moments, especially on hard days, where you wonder if the haters are right.
But then they do things like this to clear it right up.
If this guy can be Senator, you can do anything. https://t.co/vU4ChbTnnr

While the rest of us were over here rolling our eyes at AOC’s tiresome schtick, Stephen Colbert was over there, trying to deliver his monologue while in the throes of a full-blown fit of ecstasy:
Colbert on Senator Mike Lee's criticism of @AOC and @SenMarkey's Green New Deal:
"Maybe it's good the sea levels are rising because Mike Lee's going to need some water for that burn." ? pic.twitter.com/McFqoebhyE

What burn was that, Stephen? The one where lady-Trump AOC demonstrated once again that she is literally incapable of accepting anything less than worshipful praise? The one where she realizes she’s woefully outwitted so she throws down the victim card?
When you’re not even as funny as a United States Senator anymore.

Mike Lee was hilarious. This comeback? Not so much. Nice try though. ??

Didn’t Colbert think it was funny that not a single Democratic senator voted in favor of the Green New Deal (and some even voted against it)? Or that AOC took credit for the Green New Deal’s failure and tried to frame it as a win?
Colbert is just pissed because @SenMikeLee is better at telling jokes.

I swear, this guy used to be funny. Watch “Strangers With Candy.” https://t.co/8DcoDglenp

He was great on that show. On this one … not so much.

He was playing the part of someone funny. When he plays himself, well he isn’t funny

I don't know why people think Colbert is a partisan Democrat when he obviously has hired Mike Huckabee to write his jokes. https://t.co/ScjAOXWcYN

See, now that’s a burn.
