We’ve known for some time that the media have a serious credibility problem, and this whole Mueller-Avenatti news cycle has shined yet another spotlight on it. If they want to salvage what’s left of their reputation, they’re gonna need to do a lot of introspection — and give this idea from Erick Erickson some real thought:
Gotta great TV concept. It’s called the news. Hosts talk to reporters who give them facts and the hosts ask probative questions of the reporters. Pundits and analysts never show up. And the idea of narrative building is anathema.

Unless, of course, the media want to keep setting fire to themselves. In which case, they don’t have a prayer.
Meh. It'll never work.
