Yesterday, Chris Hayes separated himself from most of the liberal media pack by openly mocking the bullsh*t conspiracy theory that Zina Bash was flashing a “white power” sign as she sat behind Brett Kavanaugh.
Hayes even rolled his eyes at pissy ThinkProgress tool Aaron Rupar around for having no sense of humor:
Is this screencap of a hand gesture from a 30-year-old movie meant to serve as an argument that a Trump official didn’t intend it to be a racist dogwhistle when she did it today? Because that doesn’t follow if so. https://t.co/ACATV7mvn9

It’s meant to somewhat jokingly suggest that maybe “she’s throwing up a white power sign” is not the most likely explanation for her finger configuration.

Nevertheless, Hayes took down his initial tweet. But not because he thought the “white power” conspiracy had any merit; he was just sick and tired of dealing with such flaming stupidity.
That tweet was overly glib on a serious topic, so I took it down. Yes, it's used as an alt-right symbol. No, I do not think there is *any* evidence it was being "flashed" today in the hearing and I think people shouldn't disseminate that claim or insinuation. <fin>

Naturally, this only made the Resistance angrier:
Other than the video of her flashing it for 19 consecutive minutes, no evidence.

Chris is usually spot on. Just not this time.

Chris, watch this. It's clearly purposeful. https://t.co/Tlpv8vkO3Z

Does she work with Stephen Miller? How can you explain this video >> https://t.co/8UuGLD1w0X

She did it twice, during 2 different Senators' comments. You might want to go watch that over and over again. It was on purpose!

So, @ChrisLhayes call, or have your staff call Zina Bash and tell us what was on the text message she received which appears to be what prompted her to flash the sign she claims she has no idea what it means.

Sorry, but this group doesnt get the benefit of the doubt. They have shown us exactly who they are, there is no reason to not listen to them.
— Loki Bighog (@LokiBighog) September 5, 2018
she clearly did it in response to a text message she got. it was a dare and whoever dared her got EXACTLY what they wanted out of it, outrage followed by plausible deniability and the benefit of the doubt from "mainstream" media.

I all my years on earth, which are many, I have never seen anyone cross their arms and form a circle with their index finger and thumb. It's a 100% unnatural position. She intentionally did that, knowing there was a camera pointed at her. A brazen shout out her Nazi pals.

I think it's very sad you choose a photo of a black man to make light of white supremacy.
This is a common complaint that black people have with white people who dismiss or excuse white supremacy.
You ruined a moment to call out white supremacy and you made it a joke.
Sad.

Nothing’s sadder than the Resistance. Good on Chris Hayes.
