We’ve been giving the Oscars a hard time, what with their hollow gestures and hypocrisy on #MeToo. But as it turns out, the Academy is actually very committed to addressing certain problems:

The rating for the Oscars went down 16% from last year and last year the ratings were dismal. Last thing people noticed is an envelope.

Look, what matters is that Hollywood saw a problem and actually did something about it to make sure it never happens again.
