Donald Trump loves Israel. He’s very pro-Israel.
Just don’t ask him to be able to answer any questions about, you know, Israel:

Well, you know what they say: When in doubt, ask one of your Jewish friends. One of your many Jewish friends:
"'I have many Jewish friends,' Trump said." https://t.co/Y23GJHTk85

Trump also literally said "I have many Jewish friends." https://t.co/sSU93Yv26E

Of course he did.
That’s great, Donald.
But let’s get back to the West Bank, shall we?
Donald Trump, would-be president, doesn't know what to call the West Bank. https://t.co/bPbjn9pWs4 @joshnathankazis @EliLake @djpressman

Trump, self-proclaimed lover of Israel, was unable to answer Q about what the West Bank was: https://t.co/RxkfxnLugM via @jdforward

A Forward reporter had asked Trump what phrase he would use to describe the land east of Israel’s Green Line, which demarcates the country’s pre-1967 borders and is variously referred to as the West Bank, occupied territories, Judea and Samaria and Palestine.
It was a question meant to elicit a specific response on a politically freighted issue. Essentially, Trump didn’t answer.
The GOP candidate responded that there are “many words that I’ve seen to describe it,” before deferring to [Trump Organization chief legal officer Jason] Greenblatt.

Hmmm.

That’s unpossible! He has a very good brain and he’s said a lot of things. He was probably just trying to give Greenblatt a moment in the spotlight.

He’s very generous that way.

"Jewdia? Judia? Judea? Whatever, that place on the you know, the Bank of whatever. Let my Jewish guy handle this question." D. Trump
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) April 14, 2016
Pretty much, yeah.
But at least Mr. Trump’s knowledge of Israel is consistent with his knowledge on other things a U.S. president should be familiar with:

Well, to be fair, coherence isn’t exactly Trump’s strong suit.
