Salon’s Jenny Kutner is pretty pissed off about the growing backlash against Lena Dunham:
But the inclusion of broader conservative criticisms of Dunham, including her decision not to report an instance of sexual assault she describes in her book, as well as repulsion over details of childhood bodily exploration, illustrate what the right is really upset about. It’s not an issue of First Amendment rights, but rather the way one woman has chosen to exercise her own.
Glaring refusal to acknowledge that there are plenty of liberal critics of Dunham aside, Kutner’s bullcrap has given “FrackNation” director Phelim McAleer an interesting idea:
we should rewrite the @lenadunham passages with the name Bristol Palin and see what the reaction from @salon would be
— Phelim McAleer (@PhelimMcAleer) November 3, 2014
We’re guessing Kutner wouldn’t be nearly as supportive.
