Larry the Cable Guy has never been shy about speaking his mind, and today, he’s defending the right of “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson to do the very same:
@KatiePavlich if A&E really wants to make a statement, then instead of saying a guy is suspended, knowing he's all over the upcoming season
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KatiePavlich then get rid of the whole show! That's having your cake and eating it too. Nothing but protective lip service.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KatiePavlich Phil was asked a question and stated his mind. That is not illegal. Agree or not we are going over freedoms cliff when a
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KatiePavlich a person can't express his personally feelings anymore without fear of verbal and monetary retribution. This is not what
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KatiePavlich soldiers died for. Plus A&E is not tax payer funded. People aren't forced to watch it. Another case of the whiney America.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich he should have thought before he spoke..you have your 1st rights but have to deal with the consequences of them
— K Tran (@KTrueplayer) December 19, 2013
@KTrueplayer @KatiePavlich he did. That's his beliefs. Do you want a world where you always have to think before you speak what you believe?
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KTrueplayer @KatiePavlich for PC fear. I want to know peoples true beliefs. This guy ain't hurting anyone but ducks.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Truth!
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich I served 25 years so Phil could have beliefs and the community he "offended" to not like it. Thick Skin People!
— THE Yak (@Tyackley) December 19, 2013
@Tyackley @darn right! Thanks Todd
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@SoloVoc nobody apologized.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Neither Phil nor his family have anything to apologize for.
@SoloVoc that was more a covering our ass lip service deal.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
https://twitter.com/DoomsDaddy/statuses/413719742411595776
@DoomsDaddy ya right.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich he should think about the consequences of his words..think before you speak. Ask Michael Richards about cons
— K Tran (@KTrueplayer) December 19, 2013
@KTrueplayer @KatiePavlich 2 different rants. One was speaking from the heart the other was searching for comedy cause he was bombing.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich a&e should cancel the show and let a network that respects people pick it up.
— Robert The Architect (@RDTheArchitect) December 19, 2013
(Worth noting that Glenn Beck has offered the Robertsons a home at TheBlaze TV.)
@RDTheArchitect hey Robert I love ya but 14 million people like it. I know you hate that but that why God created remotes. Just a comment
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich I'm glad we live in a country with rights and freedoms…but we don't live in a country without consequences
— K Tran (@KTrueplayer) December 19, 2013
@KTrueplayer @KatiePavlich he did nothing wrong. You just don't agree with them. A lot if people do. Get a remote and you won't get upset.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Bingo. The beauty of choice is that you get to, you know, choose. Don’t like it? Find something else.
https://twitter.com/Kerry_Deaton/statuses/413721280454860800
@Kerry_Deaton amen
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich I personally think that everybody needs to pull up their big girl panties and move on..we have bigger problems
— K Tran (@KTrueplayer) December 19, 2013
@KTrueplayer agree
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @KatiePavlich hey larry time for the ordinary people start to to make fun of these pc idiots who like tell people what to do
— chuck harrison (@0SweetSolace0) December 19, 2013
@0SweetSolace0 I've been doin that for years!
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry Larry you are right if we don't stand up for our rights in this country it's going to get out of hand fast. Phil has Rights!
— Bradley Miller (@CountryMusikMan) December 19, 2013
@CountryMusikMan I agree. He'll be fine. If people really think this guy cares about a TV show than their sorely mistaken.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Yep. Robertson knows that ultimately, he answers to God. Not to the Outrage Police.
Hope @GitRDoneLarry is not supporting Phil today by wearing a camo thong.
— Kevin G (@Bobelfish) December 19, 2013
@ripcolreb too late!
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Heh.
https://twitter.com/BODEVP/statuses/413728800812179456
@BODEVP of course he doesn't.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Phil Robertson has made clear time and time again that his faith and family are what truly matter to him.
It's not just Phil Robertson. The progressive minority PC left wanna take down anybody with independent thought that doesn't agree with them
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Here's a novel idea. If somebody on TV says something that offends you, DONT WATCH THE SHOW! That's called freedom of choice.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
I don't like a lot of shows but I don't want people fired cause I don't like their views. I DONT WATCH THEIR SHOWS! Let the free market
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
work it out. This is so rediculous! We literally have become a nation of 4 yr olds on a playground! Grow some thick skin and move on!
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
In 10 years people in this country are gonna sue cause they got called a mean name. What a bunch of thin skinned crybabies! Lol.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
We live in the Age of Pajama Boy.
https://twitter.com/Noazrrk/statuses/413730694222082049
@Noazrrk so does he. read his whole statement. He disagrees with the lifestyle. He never once said he hated anybody. Don't pick and choose.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Correct. As Robertson said, “I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” There’s nothing remotely offensive about preaching love for mankind.
@GitRDoneLarry Interesting they left out his other comments about heterosexual sin. Instead, they use one part of interview as homophobic.
— Rick Anderson (@rickandersonoc) December 19, 2013
@rickandersonoc of course they did.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
The sin of omission.
@GitRDoneLarry in the uk the PC brigade have made it so that people are almost scared to express an opinion for fear of being arrested etc
— MONKeEeYboi ?ally (@MONKeEeYboi) December 19, 2013
@designfault it's a shame. When ya don't like what's being said, ban it.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry in all seriousness, citing teachings of a religion that constantly contradicts itself ISNT independent thought @ all….
— Buffering…… (@TruTomFoolery) December 19, 2013
@Dreaded_Love44 your opinion.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry I agree but as a person in the spotlight, should there be a fine line to walk? Or someone to remind them to walk it?
— Jason Schuster (@schudog75) December 19, 2013
@schudog75 they're popular because of their beliefs. They gave him a platform and then get upset when he speaks. They knew what they hired.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Exactly. A&E was aware of the Robertsons’ strong religious beliefs from the get-go. The fact that the network is caving to pressure from pot-stirring groups like GLAAD is just plain pathetic — and cowardly.
@GitRDoneLarry History will show it was a well orchestrated PR stunt, mark my words. I tried watching the show once and felt my IQ falling..
— Rob Noakes – VE3PCP (@GPKRacing) December 19, 2013
@GPKRacing hey Rob I'm sure you watch other dumb shows. Don't say your iq is falling when you watch it. That's a cop out for not
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GPKRacing understanding their popularity.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GPKRacing I'm sure you watch shows you enjoy that someone would also say they felt their iq dropping. It's a mix and match. You tried you
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GPKRacing didn't like it so move on. No need to act like your too smart for it. If you were truly a genious and wanted a higher iq you'd
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GPKRacing get rid of the TV and read books all day. TV is what you make it.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
https://twitter.com/darrend08/status/413731907138904065
@darrend08 lol. He was right.

https://twitter.com/BMonikaisSexy/status/413732226455445504
@BMonikaisSexy I'm not mean. Just commenting. Ok I feel better now. Just don't wanna stay on the fence in big issues. Thats what they want.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
https://twitter.com/bbell2826/status/413732384165466113
@bbell2826 not really.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@KatiePavlich @GitRDoneLarry @AETV
I got a 39 yr old gay daughter that lives in my house & I Total agree w/ Phil. Am a a mean hater too ?— Ken (Papa) Schmidt?? (@Papa7326) December 19, 2013
@Papa7326 no cause you love her untill your dying breath. That's what you should do. Love and agree are 2 different things.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Beautifully put.
https://twitter.com/BMonikaisSexy/status/413732494098186240
@BMonikaisSexy read his whole statement. He's not hating on anyone. You will never understand. Carry on
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
https://twitter.com/Hillbilly1013/status/413732926711296000
@Hillbilly1013 if that's the case than I should have run home and quit living life back in 9th grade. You can overcome words.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry @Noazrrk nor did he ever call for or condone violence toward gays or mistreatment of gays.
— Jim C. (@allin247) December 19, 2013
@allin247 of course not.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
https://twitter.com/BMonikaisSexy/status/413736675987030016
@BMonikaisSexy well. That's just you. I'm not
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@GitRDoneLarry our society believes that disagreement equals hate. When and why did that happen?
— MelissaVA76 (@MelissaVA76) December 19, 2013
That’s what you get when you allow political correctness to be mistaken for basic human decency.
@MelissaVA76 boy isn't that the truth.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Trolls gonna troll, of course:
https://twitter.com/JasonHultgrien/status/413743812838555648
Puh-leeze.
@JasonHultgrien Jason seriously you know nothing about what your talking about. It's a book of redemption, love, hope and forgiveness.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
@JasonHultgrien. Phil Robertson actually is getting off light. Jesus brought the world nothing but Peace, hope and love and they killed him.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
How dare people get offended that someone in the national spotlight is an uneducated bigot. @GitRDoneLarry
— Nolan Woodford (@TeamACW) December 19, 2013
@TeamACW hey Nolan he's pretty educated. Just cause you disagree you dont have to call him names. Disagreement isn't bigotry.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
No it isn’t. At least not in the America we know.
Parting words:
All good. Great discussion everyone. Have a great Christmas and always read for yourself and learn on your own. Life is short. Judge no one!
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Believe me none of us are living perfect lives but we can always try. The bible has great life lessons if you want to read them. No one is
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Forcing any of them on anyone. If they do then they are wrong. It's all a personal decision. Love one another.
— Larry The Cable Guy (@GitRDoneLarry) December 19, 2013
Amen. Git-R-Done!
