Earlier today, Toronto mayor Rob Ford admitted to smoking crack cocaine during one of his “drunken stupors.” Which naturally invited comparisons between him and another crack-smoking mayor, the illustrious Marion “Bitch Set Me Up” Barry:
Rob Ford vs. Marion Barry: Who said it best? http://t.co/iDP4AgrSGD
— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) November 5, 2013
But Team Barry didn’t take kindly to WaPo’s side-by-side comparison, and a Twitter fit was pitched:
@washingtonpost So the post is now a tabloid? He's 77.Getting over another hypoglycemic attack.Served city 31 yrs.Move on. -MB's tweet team.

@bacrook24 @washingtonpost …to get caught. Do u really want to know how many politicians overcame or still struggle w/addiction?

But if Barry’s people are looking for sympathy on Twitter, they’re not likely to find much of it.
