Earlier today, Rolling Stone’s editors claimed their decision to put a Tiger Beat-esque Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover was born out of a desire to adhere to the “traditions of journalism.” The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple insisted that citizens upset by the sympathetic depiction of Tsarnaev were merely part of America’s “tedious outrage machine.”
