It seems to be getting awful crowded under that bus …
Just last month, Obama officials blamed White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler for their inability to release a comprehensive Benghazi timeline. Today comes the news that CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell has resigned (effective August 9) — to spend more time with his family, natch.

Via The Hill:
“I am passionate about two things in this world—the Agency and my family. And while I have given everything I have to the Central Intelligence Agency and its vital mission for a third of a century, it is now time for me to give everything I have to my family,” Morrell said in a statement.
Resignations happen. We get that. But when it comes to this administration, it’s difficult not to raise an eyebrow when an official connected to one of the White House’s many scandals hands in his walking papers. Morell, you see, was the guy who, according to the Obama administration, requested that the Benghazi talking points be changed:
Deputy CIA Dir Michael Morell – played key role in crafting #Benghazi "talking points" – announces retirement effective August 9th

Worth noting Morell is CIA official whom administration says independently wanted #Benghazi TPs edited in same way State sought.

Nutshell award goes to RT @StevenTDennis: ! CIA Deputy Morell is out, per AP. Administration pinned Benghazi talking points edits on him.

Timing is everything, huh?
CIA DD Mike Morell resigning….hmmmm, interesting timing?! Though he wont leave till August. #scandals #NSA #benghazi #Obama

This doesn’t exactly pass the smell test.
“It’s time for my family". Sure it is….. CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell steps down: http://t.co/GdBTfnQmmB #nsa #Benghazi #tcot

Originally began as "White House bus ran me over" but after 12 edits got to this. -> RT @allahpundit Morell: “It’s time for my family” #okay

Red flags abound. But fear not! Morell isn’t going off the grid completely:

Well, as a matter of fact, yes. President Obama will reportedly appoint Morell to his Intelligence Advisory Board. Makes sense, right? Much easier to keep a close eye on him there.
RT @NewsBreaker: UPDATE: White House says Morell to join president's intelligence advisory board following resignation as CIA Deputy Dir.

Oh, and his replacement? White House lawyer Avril D. Haines. The president likes to keep things cozy.
Morell as Deputy CIA director had an MA in economics from GU, and spent 33 years as a career officer. To be replaced by WH lawyer? Huh?

Morell was both in the room on 9/11 and managed the team that found OBL. He'll be replaced by a White House lawyer? Seems odd.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) June 12, 2013
Odd, yes. Surprising? No.
He's from Chicago RT @GaltsGirl: Why is he nominating a lawyer as Deputy Director of the CIA???

Good point. As is this one:
No one can stylistically edit talking points better than a former lawyer from the Obama White House. #CIA

Ugh. In any event, one thing’s for certain:
Does the admin think with Morell stepping down #Benghazi will just go away? Ha! Not a chance.

The weight of all that guilt is going to stop that bus cold someday.
