Sir Richard? Ex-Sen. Lugar to receive honorary knighthood

This is not a drill.

The former U.S. Senator from Indiana will be named a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in a ceremony tomorrow at the British Embassy in D.C.

Lugar will be knighted at the British Embassy in DC by Sir Peter Westmacott, British Ambassador to the U.S.

Since he’s not a British citizen, he can’t technically be Sir Richard. But he might not mind it if you call him that.
