Gov. Hickenlooper signs gun-grabbing bills; Coloradans lament assault on 2nd Amendment

This morning, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper made good on his promise and signed gun control legislation into law. The new laws will expand background checks, impose background check fees, and set a 15-round limit on ammunition magazines.

To Hickenlooper and Colorado Democrats, the Second Amendment is evidently just an outdated concept. But gun rights advocates don’t see it that way, and they’re taking this assault on their constitutional rights very seriously:

With this stunt, Hickenlooper could find himself facing a steep uphill reelection battle:

Earlier this week, Boulder-based gun accessories manufacturer Magpul confirmed its plans to leave Colorado if the ban on high-capacity magazines went through.

But Magpul won’t be the only business affected by the new laws:

Weld County Sheriff John Cooke, knowing full-well that these laws are ridiculous, has already said he won’t enforce them. Will others follow his lead?
