Last night, former Sen. Rick Santorum’s nephew passed away. In his emotional CPAC speech today, Santorum remembered his nephew’s last moments. Cox decided that she’d go easy on him, tweeting this:
Hard to mock Santorum’s visibly emotional opening about his nephew’s illness and death. So I won’t.
She won’t? Oh, how noble of her to temporarily put aside her smarmy condescension. Shockingly, her restraint was fleeting:
Santorum citing Buddha and Victor Frankl, call to relieve suffering of poor Americans and give them health care, on the other hand=farce.

Santorum: “GOD IS MENTIONED FOUR TIMES IN THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!” And therefore gays can’t marry. I mean, obv.

Santorum taking a firm stand against passage of time. #CPACScore 1772/10

Protip: When Santorum bemoans “erosion of our values over time,” he is referring to the “expansion of rights.” You’re welcome!

And when Cox’s acolytes picked up her slack and pounced on Santorum, she didn’t discourage their venom:
