Sure, Biden sucks, but Northam will always be the biggest COVID a-hole in MY book

I remember way back in 2020 when the government first started talking about locking us down here in Virginia, and Northam was babbling about ‘non-essential employees’ … it struck me in the strangest way because employment regardless of where people worked in my mind has always been essential. People need to earn a living, and the idea that the government could tell someone they weren’t essential seemed so absolutely foreign to me.

Naively, I never thought it would happen.

Until it did.

I’ll be honest, I was naive about a lot of what the government did ‘to protect us’ during COVID. Looking back, I never would have thought they’d close businesses, take school away from our kids, take church away, and hold us hostage from our families, alive and in death. The very things I thought could never happen in America absolutely happened …

Especially here in Virginia. Northam was always one of the first to abuse his authority, and one of the last to let it go. For a while he was holding a weekly presser where he stood in front of the camera and told millions of Virginians what he was going to take away from us THIS week. I remember in May of 2020 when he put out the EO forcing people to mask in businesses and even then, I just couldn’t believe this was happening.

But it was.

I was listening to him do his ‘southern yokel’ act on the radio, and when he said we’d have to mask to go anywhere my daughter looked at me and said, ‘He’s serious?’ I was in such shock, I didn’t know how to answer her.  I simply didn’t have an answer for what our government was willing to do to us and take away from us.

Writing this is making me angry …

Luckily, like me, enough Virginians were pissed off about what Northam did to vote for Glenn Youngkin over McAuliffe in 2021; knowing Democrats outnumber Republicans at least 2-1, they definitely crossed over to vote for actual change in this state. I thank God for that every day, especially watching Democrats (teacher’s unions) talking about how we should mask for the flu as well now.

Unreal.

Carol Roth’s tweet really hit home for me.

Americans were willing to give up so much of their freedom, their identity, their movement, their jobs, heck, their lives … I never thought that could happen here. But it did. And in some cases, it continues to happen here. Far too many people would absolutely give up their jobs, their families, and cover their faces forever if the right people in authority told them it’s a good idea. That it’s for the common good.

And like Carol said, when that’s the case, those in authority won’t stop.

Unless we push back.

Unless we fight back.

Unless we win elections and make them stop.

Like we did here in Virginia.

When we gave Democrats the boot.
