Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is really proud of her interview all in Spanish with Univision Nueva York.
Hey, more power to her.
I’m really proud of this interview!
Growing up, Spanish was my first language – but like many 1st generation Latinx Americans, I have to continuously work at it & improve.
It’s not perfect, but the only way we improve our language skills is through public practice. #Palante https://t.co/FpGIFSQiRp

Oh, AOC. We don’t even know where to begin with this one.
English not being your first language begins to explain things. https://t.co/9pXPx07L0K

Doesn’t it?
Except for some things she tweeted have people questioning her Spanish.
Latinx??? You’re delusional. The left just keep making up words.
— Marcus (@MarcusWooley2) September 6, 2019
We’re seeing this word a lot and to this tweep’s point, we’re not sure where it comes from. The urban dictionary says that Latinx is gender-neutral … or something.
There is no such word as Latinx. How do you even pronounce it? Is it “la-tinks”?
— WindTalker (@nmlinguaphile) September 6, 2019
Maybe it sounds like z, like in xylophone.
Eh?
Real Latin Americans would never use the fake terms LatinX ?
— Linda Knows Nothing? (@wakeupwithlinda) September 6, 2019
Seeing this a lot.
What the hell is LatinX? ??
— Darci J. Hayford-Trump ?? (@Darci51) September 6, 2019
If you had any respect for the Spanish language, you would not be using politically correct garbage like "Latinx." What is up with the Left and their Orwellian compelled speech BS?
— Baruch Cohen (@BaruchCohen4) September 6, 2019
Those people aren’t going to pander to themselves, man.
Latin x? ??
Even the Latin community hates that phrase— SAMO_Basquiat (@SAMO_Basquiat) September 6, 2019
Just sayin’.
You should practice with @BetoORourke his Spanish is exceptional
— Woke Auditor (@marctheflom) September 6, 2019
Or Cory Booker, who sounds like a terminator when he speaks Spanish.
Que demonios es PALANTE???, sorry niña, eso no es español.
— Syntheon (@matrixsyntheon) September 6, 2019
Translated: What the hell is PALANTE ???, sorry girl, that’s not Spanish.
What the heck is latinx ?
— RaJean Gonzales Ruiz (@ragina40) September 6, 2019
Eh … you get the picture.
Spanish may indeed be her first language but if so, it needs work.
