Jim Acosta.
Just when we think we might be done covering his antics (and they ARE antics), someone else says something hilariously clever to or about him and we get sucked right back into writing about him again.
He’s given us fodder for days, weeks … heck, months.
We should send him a batch of cookies.
Hey Jim @acosta, the job of a true journalist is not to be sad or happy by what happens in a press briefing room. It is to ask questions and report facts about what was said/not said. Your feelings, antics, + self promotion are hurting journalism, not helping it. Enough. https://t.co/J1sO8enSBz

Gosh, we searched Jim’s timeline and we don’t see a response from him to David for his helpful and insightful advice.
Color us shocked.
BINGO David!

It’s a job.
That’s it.
Jim isn’t special. *shrug*
I believe one of the fundimental principles of journalism is "never become the story" Acosta has failed in this regard. If he wants to be a social activist? Go for it. But if you're a journalist, report the news & stay out of the news.

That’s what we keep saying.
Hard to do your job when they won’t answer questions.
— Jackie sa (@Jackiesa4) August 3, 2018
Not hard at all. You report they wouldn’t answer the questions. Viewers get to decide whether it matters.
— David Shuster (@DavidShuster) August 3, 2018
Boom.
Reporting a story isn’t about pushing your narrative, it’s about the STORY.
And it seems Jim has forgotten that.
Exactly, all I want are relevant questions about the news of the day, not this petty crap in the briefing. He's taking time from the true reporters in the room. Take the grievances outside of the Press Room.

Whomp, there it is.
Here’s a dumb take
— Bradley Beychok (@beychok) August 3, 2018
The retired president of Media Matters would be an expert on dumb takes.
Yup.
