Shocking, we know, but Hall of Fame outfielder and all-around nice guy Tony Gywnn reportedly owes the good ol’ U.S. of A. about $400,000 in unpaid taxes from 2003, ’07, and ’09.
No word yet on exactly why Gwynn is ducking Uncle Sam, but this news will definitely hurt his chances at owning the San Diego Padres, the team whose jersey he wore for 20 years and he’s currently trying to buy along with movie producer Thomas Tull.
A newspaper report indicated Saturday that former San Diego #Padres great Tony #Gwynn owns more than $400,000 in federal income taxes.

Where did Tony Gwynn's money go? He shouldn't have back taxes…

I've always hated the Celtics and also the Heat, so I'm hoping Tony Gwynn bet $400,000 on the right side.
