It was far from a comfortable departure for Ann Curry, as she spent her last five minutes at the “Today” show wishing viewers well and thanking all involved. Many picked up on the tension between Curry and co-host Matt Lauer, and a new report says he’s 100 percent responsible for her leaving.
#AnnCurry couldn't even look at #MattLauer during her #TODAY exit yesterday. Read why here: http://t.co/hBvVI0my

Us Weekly reports that Lauer was solely responsible for Curry’s departure, and that the two had not been very warm and receptive to each other. A source told the magazine that Curry didn’t say a word to Lauer during her final week.
This claim won’t come as a surprise to many, as plenty noticed the apparent rift beforehand. Still, the situation has disgruntled viewers who might not be giving Lauer their viewership anymore.
Lauer Makes NBC Fire Curry? Stupid jocks like Matt Lauer hate smart women like Ann Curry. Wise up, NBC. Keep wisdom, dump fake machismo!

I don't like the fact that Ann Curry is no longer on the Today Show. If anybody needed to move on, it's that diva Matt Lauer. #losing

Ann Curry bashed by NBC News president Steve Capus http://t.co/XbImZIiP I blame Matt Lauer, the landscaper from Long Island, for this.

The “Today” show was already facing a downward spiral, and it seems none of this is going to help matters.
