Hollywood legend Larry Hagman of CBS’s “Dallas” and “I Dream of Jeannie” fame died last year after a valiant battle with cancer. Television veteran and equally legendary actor Jack Klugman also died last year. Many viewers were irked by the Emmy Awards show producers’ bizarre decision to feature a stand-alone special tribute to Fox “Glee” star Cory Montieth, but not Hagman (who turned CBS prime-time into a powerhouse) or Klugman.
Ok they came correct by acknowledging Larry Hagman. I still don't see why that kid gets a separate memorial though. #Emmys

Outrageous that Larry Hagman did not get a breakout farewell speech from a co-star from #Dallas or #IDreamOfJeannie a true legend #Emmys

Not honoring #JackKlugman and #LarryHagman at the Emmys would be like the Tonys not honoring Angela Lansbury or the Oscars not honoring DDL

Hagman, Klugman, and other veterans who died this year were treated as afterthoughts.
I will say it again Larry Hagman should've had a tribute. As should Jack Klugman, Not #CoryMonteith @TheEmmys #Emmys #fail

well they showed Larry Hagman, Jack Klugman AND @Jeannecooper1's headshots in the "in memoriam" montage #Emmys

Cory Montieth gets eulogized but passing photo references to greats like Larry Hagman? Disgusting. JR > Finn Same for so many others #Emmys

Klugman’s son weighed in:
Adam Klugman is fuming over his father’s exclusion from an expanded special tribute at this weekend’s Primetime Emmys that includes Cory Monteith. “I think it’s criminal,” Klugman tells The Associated Press. “My dad was at the inception of television and helped build it in the early days.” Jack Klugman, a three-time Emmy winner and star of The Odd Couple and Quincy M.E., died in December. He, Larry Hagman and others who died in the past year will be part of a traditional In Memoriam remembrance during the awards ceremony, but not in a special tribute…
I 100% agree with Jack Klugman's son Adam. The #Emmys should be honoring legends like Jack Klugman & Larry Hagman who had decades of acting

But there was plenty of time for endless song and dance numbers!
Seriously. Larry Hagman didn't merit a tribute either? But we got multiple dance numbers? This is an outrage! #Emmys #weirdemmys
