Snort! That’s right. MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry took to Twitter to “apologize” to the Romneys for the despicable mocking of their adopted grandson that took place during a panel on her show. Few bought her faux-pology and with good reason. Not the least of which was her use of a self-serving hashtag: #MHPApology.
Seriously, Ms. Harris-Perry?

Yes. Yes, she did. Once again, she is making herself the victim.

hashtagging an apology? RT @MHarrisPerry: I am sorry. Without reservation or qualification. I apologize to the Romney family. #MHPapology

Twitter users rightly gave her the business while providing a Teachable Moment about how to actually apologize sincerely.
@JasonBWhitman @redsteeze If you give it a hashtag it makes it makes it so much more sincere. #MHPapology

I think I find the self-important hashtag #MHPapology more offensive that her racist remarks. Without question she is unprofessional.

Note to self: when publicly apologizing, add a trending hashtag so it can be easily discussed. Won't seem disingenuous at all. #MHPapology

@charlescwcooke I can't take seriously any apology that has the hashtag #MHPapology at the end of it.

#MHPapology Apologizes? Rather tacky creating your own #hashtag to make an apology statement. #hypocrite = @MHarrisPerry @MHPshow

@redsteeze A sincere apology with a hashtag is essentially an apology with sincere air quotes. #MHPapology

Nothing says humility and sincerity like posting multiple tweets as a so-called "apology" with its own hashtag. #MHPapology

It’s totally cool, though. Now you can say whatever you want and just hashtag-apologize it!
@MHarrisPerry is a complete moron. Oh, wait, I'm sorry! #BSapology is my hashtag #MHPapology

Heh.
Lame, Ms. Harris-Perry. As usual.
