What?! When did this happen? You are supposed to catch the ball? Geez, sporty thingies are hard.

Snicker.
Once again, Twitter rose to the occasion when announcer Tim McCarver offered up such pearls of wisdom during game four the World Series Sunday night. The Red Sox won the game to tie up the series, but Twitter won the mocking trophy.
Just learned something from Tim McCarver, you are supposed to catch the ball BEFORE it hits the ground. What a great baseball mind.

— Dan Firnbach (@Producer__Dan) October 28, 2013
"Catch it before it hits the ground." It's that kind of insightful commentary that gets Tim McCarver the mic at the #WorldSeries.

This is why I'm going to miss Tim McCarver "You gotta catch the ball before it hits the ground." #DroolingVegetable #WorldSeries

How much money is Tim McCarver getting paid to tell us to "catch it before it hits the ground" @awfulannouncing #mlb #captainobvious

But, wait! There was more:
Sometimes it’s the runs that you don’t score that are the difference ~ Tim McCarver wisdom.
— Not Jackie Jensen (@JJensenRF) October 28, 2013
@WrightScribe mccarver once said "the team who scores the least amount of runs loses most of the time"
— Junior (@EZVGIANT21) October 27, 2013
"As the leaves change in New England, so does the score." Someone please do something, ANYTHING about McCarver. #WorldSeries
— Pat DeCola (@Pat_DeCola) October 28, 2013
@LangoschMLB @MLB but according to #McCarver whoever scores the most…last…wins. #whowouldathought

@RBIrich Thank goodness for Buck & McCarver to remind me that the team that scores the most runs will win the game.

"The way to extend pitch counts is by foul balls." -Tim McCarver Thank you for another astute observation. #captainobvious

Wheezing with giggles!
This calls for a hashtag, yes?
Yes:
You can't win if you can't score runs. #TimMcCarverTweets
— Pundit Review (@PunditReview) October 28, 2013
It's better to score runs, than to not score runs. Especially in the #WorldSeries! #TimMcCarverTweets
— Pundit Review (@PunditReview) October 28, 2013
@PunditReview Can't get a hit if you don't swing the bat #TimMcCarverTweets

Hilarious. Also hilarious? An out of context comment:
Tim McCarver: "As soon as it's out of my mouth, he hits a double to left field." #NoContextTuesday
— LOLKNBR (@LOLKNBR) October 27, 2013
Heh.

Why don't people watch the World Series anymore? Two words: Tim McCarver. #CaptainObvious
— Jason Warburg (@JasonWarburg) October 28, 2013
No worries! Our long national nightmare is almost over.
Soooooo glad this is McCarver's last year.
— Phil Kerpen (@kerpen) October 28, 2013
@Pat_DeCola McCarver's last year. McCarver's last year. McCarver's last year. McCarver's last year. McCarver's last year. McCarver's last ye
— Sameer Ohri (@sohri) October 28, 2013
@sohri If they pull this off in six games, I'll be more happy about the extra nine innings of McCarver we've been spared than title itself.
— Pat DeCola (@Pat_DeCola) October 28, 2013
Ha!
To be fair, Tim McCarver isn’t as bad as one thing:
