Well, well. Fancy that!
As Twitchy reported, citizens noticed something odd about the Amber Alert website going dark Sunday night. Was it just a redirect ploy and a shutdown scam? Well, late Monday morning, the Spite House announced that it was back up and running.
Amazing. The Amber Alert website is back up and running. Never say Obama didn't do the least he could do – it's the least he could do….

Surprise! It isn’t “non-essential” after all!
RT @theIsh: The Amber Alert website is essential after all… http://t.co/mR2L6r1jXw
— Ed Morrissey (@EdMorrissey) October 7, 2013
Once again, citizens and “just bloggers” did the job that the media, like HuffPo’s Sam Stein, doesn’t want to do.
honest q for folks who think this Amber thing's all a publicity stunt. Why would the WH shut things down like head start, which it supports?
— Sam Stein (@samstein) October 7, 2013
@samsteinhp And is the implication that the administration doesn't support Amber Alert? One imagines it supports both, no?
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
@samsteinhp You make it sound as if Amber Alert was taken down accidentally. There was a conscious decision to do so. It was intentional.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
I was assured by people like @samsteinhp that Amber Alert site had to be taken down because there was no money. Funny how it's back up now.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
It was just “confusion,” y’all!
RT @jaketapper: After Bad Press and Confusion, Justice Department Restores Federal Amber Alert Website > http://t.co/n7ylF7eNSe
— Kemberlee Kaye (@KemberleeKaye) October 7, 2013
But really @jaketapper, there was no "confusion" re Amber Alert site, they know what they're doing & so do we. #SpiteHouse
— Tammy Bruce (@HeyTammyBruce) October 7, 2013
Precisely. The Spite House struck again.
@EvanMcSan This after the White House insisted it HAD to be taken offline because there was no money. Bad PR found money, I guess.

The DOJ reports that a person was taken off of furlough to re-open the Amber Alert website http://t.co/14K6qxIdgy
— HuffPost Crime (@HuffPostCrime) October 7, 2013
@HuffPostCrime Website didn't shut itself down. Someone dedicated time and money to shutting it down to begin with.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
There was no appropriation of funds between yesterday and today. Yet the Amber Alert website, which was taken down yesterday, is back today.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
@samsteinhp Point is it's all absurd. But none of this is new. The concept of agencies maximizing pain to secure funds is not a new one. 1/2
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
@samsteinhp more dire than the situation is to maximize political gain. Again, not a new or wild concept. http://t.co/z44ICUouHK That's all.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
Dead-on. First the Obama administration admitted it was holding our memorials for ransom. Now, our missing children.

#ObamaShutdown the Amber Alert website because it had the potential to scare people into supporting him, not because he had to.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) October 7, 2013
Beyond reprehensible.

Ha! We won’t hold our breath. But, no worries. “Just bloggers” will continue to do the job.
Rep. Stockman leaves us with a frightening exit point:
Obama administration shuts down Amber Alert site, blames "confusion."
Don't worry. They're still in charge of your health care.
— Steve Stockman (@SteveWorks4You) October 7, 2013
It’s terrifying, because it’s true.
