A Wendy’s independent franchise owner reportedly posted signs in support of Chick-fil-A at his dozens of franchise locations across North Carolina.
This did not suit the tolerance bullies, of course. How dare any individual have thoughts and opinions of his own? Worse … freely express them! Unacceptable!

@Wendys Was the franchisee encouraged by Wendys to take the sign down – discouraging free speech?
— Mike Cash (@mikecash_) August 1, 2012
Corporate Wendy’s then took to Twitter in order to quickly cravenly cave to the tolerance tyrants. As usual; Wendy’s has a habit of caving to appease liberal bullies.
NC Franchisor of @Wendys backs Chick-Fil-A, marquee messages later removed; see @Wendys feed for their nicely executed r corporate response.

Nicely executed? If by nicely, he means “total fail.”
@WillDavisSays We're looking into this matter now, Will.

@TabithaHale @AlexaShrugged An independent franchisee posted the sign, which he’s taken down. We proudly serve ALL customers!
— Wendy's (@Wendys) August 1, 2012
The Wendy’s Twitter account repeated the “we proudly serve ALL customers” line (with capitals) dozens of times in its Twitter replies. See, they totally aren’t haters and stuff. Of course, neither is Chick-fil-A, as sane, and able to read, Twitter users were quick to point out.

Just an FYI @Wendys , it's not about serving customers, it's about biz owners being targeted over speech.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) August 1, 2012
OK, still not quite sure what @Wendys means. They say they're proud to serve all … just want to say #Chickfila is too http://t.co/KpgwTZ5M

Chick-fil-A Statement
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business.
The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect –regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.
Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.
Crystal clear, at least for those with a 2nd-grade reading level and above.
Wendy’s tries, and fails, to backpedal a bit.
@DLoesch Dana – not what we meant. Just that we're honored to serve all! (hitting tweet limits today so trying to keep replies limited)

@Wendys Just not sure why you have to quality it with "we assume." They've published such on their site. Can you acknowledge definitively?

@mrgeology We apologize for the confusion.
— Wendy's (@Wendys) August 1, 2012
Here @Wendys, just copy and paste this: "We at @Wendys believe @Chickfila proudly serves ALL its customers like we do." There. Easy.
— RBe (@RBPundit) August 1, 2012
Social media trainwreck in progress -> RT @Wendys @DanIsett Is there something we can help you with?

No one is “confused,” Wendy’s.

Bingo!

Whoever runs @Wendys’ @Twitter account probably needs to be fired. They’re doing far more damage to the brand than the sign ever could have.

Dear @Wendys, I suggest your director of social media stops implying that @ChickFilA won't serve homosexuals. THAT IS FALSE #tcot #chickfila

But pesky facts and truth are irrelevant to freedom of speech quashers, tolerance shake-down artists, and those who appease them.
Maybe it's time for @Wendys to get the 21 year old with the nose ring off the corporate twitter account.
— Lloyd Christmis ?? #MAGA (@LloydChristmis) August 1, 2012
Heh. Indeed. Although, this is par for the course for corporate bully appeasers like Wendy’s. They have not learned what average American citizens have learned: You do not defeat bullies by appeasing them. You defeat them by standing your ground.
American citizens will cave no more, as today’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” has shown.
Fight like girls. And with chicken sammiches!
