Willful ignorance: Joe Scarborough speculates Aurora killer is autistic; Backlash erupts

Wow. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough couldn’t possibly have said that, could he have?

Yeah, he did. It seems some journalists aren’t content with shamefully trying to smear the Tea Party in a desperate rush to not only politicize, but to place blame on something other than pure evil (which can’t exist, natch). Now alleged journalists are trying to scapegoat and smear those with autism.

“You don’t want to generalize,” MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said today before saying that James Holmes, the suspected Aurora, Colo., shooter, was “on the autism scale.”

“As soon as I hear about this shooting, I knew who it was. I knew it was a young, white male, probably from an affluent neighborhood, disconnected from society — it happens time and time again. Most of it has to do with mental health; you have these people that are somewhere, I believe, on the autism scale,” said Scarborough, whose son has Asperger’s syndrome. “I don’t know if that’s the case here, but it happens more often than not. People that can walk around in society, they can function on college campuses — they can even excel on college campuses — but are socially disconnected.

Wildly irresponsible and shamefully inappropriate. Not only is MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough playing a “real journalist” on television, now he is also playing a doctor, evidently.

Yep. Plus, why should he even try to do so at all? Here is a tip for all the “journalists” out there: How about a little more reporting and a little less blame-gaming? We “just bloggers” realize something that y’all evidently do not. The only person to blame is the killer himself. No mitigating factors are necessary: Evil is just evil.

You see, evil exists. Accept that and stop being willfully ignorant. Then maybe you will stop frantically trying to come to any other conclusion possible, at the expense of others and at the expense of the truth.
