More Wolf Blitzer? Sadly, yes. CNN is getting rid of “John King, USA” and will replace that show with yet another somnolent hour of Wolf Blitzer.

2:40 p.m. | Updated The ailing cable news channel CNN on Wednesday announced the end of “John King, USA,” its 6 p.m. political news program.

The program will be replaced at the end of the month by “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” which will expand from two hours to three hours. Mr. Blitzer’s program currently precedes Mr. King’s, beginning at 4 p.m.

CNN needs to study up on the definition of insanity. Hey, ratings in the gutter? Expand the same shows to more hours! That’s gold! On the plus side, y’all can scrap your chamomile tea or other sleep aids. Blitzer to the rescue!
