As fifth-generation Floridians, our family and friends span the state. When we heard the devastating news of the shooting at Florida State University today, fear gripped us. My daughter, who has close friends at FSU and plans to visit next week, immediately began calling and FaceTiming them. Thankfully, many are already home for the Easter weekend, a significant holiday in our devout Christian community. While relief washed over us, our hearts remain heavy with grief for the trauma so many are enduring. What is also enraging is the immediate politicization of the events.
Extremely irresponsible of any elected or unelected state/local official to be putting out unconfirmed specifics on the active shooter incident at FSU before law enforcement has confirmed the details.

This behavior needs to stop.
Jeremy Redfern, spokesman for the Attorney General of Florida, said it very well.
Our prayers are with our FSU family and state law enforcement is actively responding. https://t.co/gT4mDwWsGC

The Governor sent kinds regards to victims and that sure stirred up the vicious Lefties.
this is your fault!! you could pass gun safety regulations but don’t!!!

Many lack insight into the circumstances surrounding this shooting. They don't know whether the firearms involved were already illegally possessed. Individuals willing to commit murder are unlikely to hesitate in acquiring illegal weapons. In such cases, what additional impact would another gun law have?
Get rid of open carry and make stronger gun laws. Our poor kids. Prayers for the injured and for all the FSU family. Isn't this enough?

Again, what does open carry have to do with this? It's already illegal to open carry on college campuses. So, if this person was 'open-carrying', they were already breaking the law. Guess what other law they were breaking? The one against murder!

Florida State University (FSU) is considered a gun-free zone. The FSU Student Conduct Code prohibits the possession or use of firearms, knives, swords, or other weapons on campus. Maybe if people could carry on campus, these shooters could have been taken out much more quickly.
🚨 CBS just wasted no time blaming Florida gun laws for the FSU shooting.

Scott MacFarlane tied the tragedy to past shootings and slammed the state legislature for considering rolling back gun control, even though no facts about the shooter have been confirmed.
No… pic.twitter.com/L7Ww8MVITA
Even the shameless Corporate Media had to pile on. Can't they just let police do their job, get the facts, let families grieve and not do this just one time?
We need gun control now because what happened at FSU should never happen again. Why Florida has open carry, I’ll never know.

These mindless idiots jump on Twitter and tweet the most inane things. There is no open carry on campus. The Open Carry law has nothing to do with this horrific event. Please let Floridians grieve in peace.
