Score another victory for Florida’s unyielding conservative champion, Governor Ron DeSantis, and his tenacious Attorney General! They’ve made it crystal clear: no major city in Florida can dodge cooperation with ICE. Orlando’s Mayor tried to resist but swiftly backed down today, proving once again that DeSantis’s resolve is unstoppable

As a born-and-raised Orlando native—not here for Disney—I’m thrilled about this move! My young daughter loves Downtown Orlando concerts and events with friends, and this keeps her safer. Shame other governors don’t prioritize their people like ours does.
We depend on a tourist economy. If guests to our town don't feel safe, that is very bad for everyone who lives here. This is a step in ensuring our streets are safe.
That didn’t take much! https://t.co/241bnERaPU

Buddy is a weakling, and he knows he doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. He's too consumed with his looks to want to spend a day in jail, after all.
This is what we are lacking in most red states - the desire from Republicans to lean in against the blue cities and make sure their policies comport with state law. https://t.co/4tyTEplJt4

Too many Governors are afraid to go toe to toe with popular big city Mayors. They should stop worrying about optics and start worrying about following the law.

Floridians were sad to lose Ashley Moody to the Senate to fill Marco Rubio's seat, but James has stepped up and continued her fantastic legacy well.
Florida has over 60 municipalities participating in 287(g), including every sheriff's department and 7 state agencies.

Every parent in Orlando should breathe a sigh of relief.
Well done. Obeying state and federal law really should t be too much of an ask.

It's a real shame a Mayor has to be compelled to follow the law. Sigh.
Too bad he didn’t actually acknowledge their wrong standing before. Not sure that I trust him to back this policy.

Oh, it's time for Orlando to choose a new Mayor, but he is well funded and the city is still too blue. He's a mess who has floundered in various government roles for decades. He does nothing but cater to Leftists.
Keep an eye on them…

That's excellent advice and many conservatives in and around Orlando plan to do just that.
