I'm one of those rare individuals born in Orlando, Florida. While most people visit with their families to see Mickey Mouse, I call this place home. In fact, I’m a fifth-generation native Floridian on my mother’s side. Naturally, I take a strong interest in Florida politics. Like many Floridians, I’m a big supporter of Governor Ron DeSantis. After all, he won his last reelection by nearly 20 points, flipping parts of the state that hadn’t been red in decades.
I think it is incredibly under-rated how much voters love competence. Ron DeSantis didn't win Florida by 20 points b/c he's a red-meat culture warrior. He won b/c he's competent with the core business of governing and runs a tight ship.

Every time he steps up to the plate, he delivers a home run, and I never second-guess my vote for him—he’s just that impressive. Like many Floridians, I’m dreading the end of his tenure in 2026. Florida’s term limit law means Governor DeSantis can’t run again. Some have suggested that if we can’t keep Ron, perhaps the next best option is his top advisor, Casey.

Those familiar with their relationship recognize that Governor DeSantis relies on his wife, Casey, as both a life partner and a political confidante. He values her wisdom and her extensive media experience, which have proven invaluable to his success. When rumors surfaced about a potential Casey candidacy, I initially dismissed them as wishful thinking from those desperate to preserve the DeSantis dynasty—a legacy that has greatly benefited Florida. But after today, I suspect she might be testing the waters with voters. If so, I’d eagerly support her without hesitation.

Imagine eight more years in the Governor’s Mansion—keeping the dynamic duo that’s revolutionized Florida front and center! This power couple, who’ve battled side by side for safer schools, fiercely defended parental rights, supercharged our economy, championed a healthier state, and elevated life for every Floridian, could unleash even bolder victories with that extra time. And the perks? Watching their kids blossom in the Mansion spotlight—plus, let’s be real, Mason’s sports predictions would be the can’t-miss show we’d all crave!
"When you come to a fork in the road, take it," was Casey DeSantis's response on if she was running for governor to replace her husband. By all the looks of it, Casey DeSantis versus Byron Donalds will happen for Florida governor. https://t.co/rQzRDFPtQb

This could be the perfect win-win Florida’s been waiting for. Byron Donalds is tirelessly fighting for Floridians in Washington, where Republicans cling to a razor-thin House majority. If he ran for governor, we’d risk losing his seat—and with margins already so tight, that could spell disaster. Instead, this plan keeps Florida in the hands of a fierce conservative warrior while ensuring Donalds’ beloved home state thrives under strong leadership. Confident in that outcome, he could refocus on his critical work in D.C. with peace of mind. Plus, Florida wouldn't even have to pay moving expenses as our First Couple is already settled and ready to keep working to keep Florida great!
