Most conservatives agree the best way to bring a child into the world is to be a married couple with a Mom and Dad to take care of them. Unfortunately, that is not the circumstance half of American babies will find themselves in. Today, Allie Beth Stuckey offered her take on this issue.
If a friend told me she’s pregnant out of wedlock, particularly with a guy she barely knows, my response would be, “Wow. Thank you for telling me. I’ll be with you every step of the way! Want to meet up so we can talk?” Saying congratulations in that scenario just doesn’t seem…

Every child is a blessing and ordained by God with purpose. When you truly believe this, it's hard not to want to celebrate every birth.
You can both congratulate her and disciple her. The child isn’t the sin. The deed to get the child is. This isn’t rocket science. This is a fairly simple action to take. The goal is now to try to see she doesn’t do it again. https://t.co/RYHDAaMIsW

Love the sinner and hate the sin.
The first thing I will always say is, “babies are a blessing.” Babies are never a punishment. They are precious and they are blessings.

That said, the single mom life can be very hard, and we should marry a man before we let him have sex or get us pregnant. https://t.co/B9rDzda3rn
As a person who has been a single mother and also the breadwinner of the home even when I was married, it is extremely difficult on a woman. It is not something one should aspire to. Even if you have the financial means to do it alone, waking up in the middle of the night multiple times with no support is not for the weak.
The absolute *worst* thing a child can be is "the unmerited glorious perfect gift God made out of your sin."

Every child deserves rejoicing and gratitude.
The God who made him deserves it, too. https://t.co/72ARF6Ci69
In my case, I was married and my husband chose to leave me and our child. It was too much for him even though our child was very much planned. God can redeem any situation.
I disagree. We should welcome every life with a congratulations, regardless of the situation. Every mother who chooses life over death, especially in an unmarried situation, has made a choice to put her child over her self. That is something to congratulate her on.

Next, we can…
We should absolutely celebrate a mother who chooses to give birth to her baby and doesn't choose the path the world claims is 'easier'.
I got knocked up out of wedlock under horrible circumstances. I was very unwell and newly unemployed.

By the time I found the nerve to tell my (very pro-life) mother, she didn’t blink before responding, “How exciting! Congratulations!”
My mom knew I didn’t need to be lectured…
This is a beautiful account of how a child can and will end up blessing their mother even when it feels like the world is ending when she first learns of the pregnancy. We can't allow the perfect to become the enemy of the good.
