Walter Kirn is a journalist, editor at large and show host and this is his take on the current political landscape.
So I'd say AOC is done. Like done done.

Newsom too is done.
Josh Shapiro will keep quiet and bide his time and perhaps find an opening, but my guess is that if the Democrats want a viable presidential candidate in the next election they will need a defector from the Trump…
Basically, he believes the Democrats are in disarray, the public has rejected their message and there is currently no party leadership. I think this is largely true. America saw 'The Squad' push for America to abandon our best ally in the Middle East, Israel, and that did not happen. Even with all the protests, spreading rumors, tearing down hostage posters and parading in the streets, the people of America weren't moved.
There should be an exodus of Democrats trying to save their own career by distancing themselves with the evil actions of the Biden admin. https://t.co/6IcKAU3xs1

The only Democrat who has been able to accomplish that slightly is Fetterman. He votes how he pleases and agrees with the Republicans, at times. He is seen as the 'sensible' Democrat, these days. Who would've thought?
Californian is basically a slur in much of the country.

Newsom has next to no chance. https://t.co/Tug3ZjO2EZ
He also bungled a huge wildfire and came out of it looking like feckless moron.
Why in the world is Newsom toast? He never ran for national office and this is how he's starting his relationship with Trump. Do you see someone that's toast here?

And what's with the matching leans, anyway? Matching heels? https://t.co/4r1QYTr7sp pic.twitter.com/e6i50QZaEp
Newsom running to the tarmac to greet Trump is exactly making Kirn's point. Newsom is begging Trump to like him and say good things about him. Four years ago, that never would have happened.

I’ll admit I’m not privy to the inner workings of any political party but I don’t think anyone ever saw AOC as a future Presidential candidate, at least not in the Democratic Party itself. https://t.co/hQjEgelX9V

Oh, there were a whole bunch of Democrats living under that illusion.
The main problem with the Democratic party is it doesn't matter who runs,it's all propaganda and paid influencers. It's a hive mind, no one is allowed to stray from what the party wants. What started out a party for the working class (home) has now mutated into importing voters. https://t.co/PVAk3FlLME

The problem with the Democrats is they want to listen to the ultra liberal people in New York, California, parts of Oregon and New England. Those people don't win national races. Democrats have totally ostracized working class people. That used to be the bedrock of the Democratic party. Democrats completely forgot about them.
AOC and Newsom are morons that are part of the Democrats past. Shapiro is a star and part of the future for Dems if they are smart enough to pivot towards him. https://t.co/Mr0OpvY320

It won't happen because the Democrats have also become very Anti-Israel and so Shapiro won't be considered. The truth is when your party becomes the party of Anti-Semites who also hate the working class, you don't have a good chance at winning elections. Since the Democrats seem set on entertaining that group of people, the future looks very bright for Republicans.
