Sigh. This is why Americans can't make progress when it comes to issues of immigration. In the wake of all the discussion about the Haitian immigrants assimilating in Springfield, Ohio, Franklin Leonard, Founder of 'The Blcklist' posted this tweet.
Today my thoughts are of Captain Alix Idrache, a US Army helicopter pilot, who graduated at the top of his West Point class with a degree in physics in 2016.

He's also a Haitian immigrant. pic.twitter.com/AFOsbGRAJs
Obviously, Captain Idrache is a national hero and the very best of America. This is what makes America a place people dream about. In one generation, this man rose to the top of the military and graduated from a storied military academy. It's heartwarming. It's also the height of stupidity to think just because the man was successful, all other people from the same country will find the same success.
Thank you for making such a strong case for strictly vetted and selective immigration. https://t.co/OiUnNEU1GW

Exactly. He isn't making the case he thinks he is making.
Oh, well in that case drop 20,000 foreigners from the middle of a Third World country into a town of 60,000 Americans.

I don’t know if you’re stupid or you think we are. https://t.co/5iVqAqBwXm
This is the part many on the Left are purposely overlooking. This town was already a town of poor and working class people. These families were barely getting by and some of them need government assistance. Now, 20,000 people with little to no education, who can't speak English and with no money were dropped on the doorstep of an already overwhelmed people. The economy is bad all around, but it's even worse if you have next to nothing. Now, imagine those people who aren't citizens and aren't paying income tax, receive the very limited resources in the societal safety net and all of a sudden, people get really upset.
It makes sense: since a Haitian graduated from West Point, we therefore should bring his entire country here. Logical flow. https://t.co/GDgEDnMqEn

Today my thoughts are with Stanislav Petrov, who single handedly saved the world from nuclear annihilation, therefore infinity Russians can now vote in US elections. https://t.co/vwuG1aqNxB pic.twitter.com/XvTfHc7TuE

That's how it works, right?

Dumping them in and managing the process is different. Too many are falsely attacking those who want the process fairly managed. Stand by, I'm writing a Poem

Many people support controlled immigration where people are helped to assimilate and not dumped on a town already busting at the seams with the problems of society, including poverty and drug use.
No one hates Haitians. People are pointing out problems that are happening within a certain area. You should feel sad for the American citizens dealing with Haitians camping in their front yard

It's not about any one specific racial or ethnic group. It's about having a country with laws and borders and ensuring American citizens have the right to feel safe and secure, as well.
