Protestors Compare Campus Riots to 1968 Movement but Americans Aren't Buying It

Many leftists are taking to Twitter to compare this latest crop of college protests to the demonstrations from 1968. Those protests centered around two common themes: the Vietnam War and Civil Rights, particularly segregation.

While those protests were also disruptive, there was some public buy in. Segregation and the draft were directly effecting American families. Those crises hit home. I come from a family who lost a son in the Vietnam War. My Uncle was Major Kenneth Paul Tanner killed in action in Vietnam. I still see remnants of the effects to my family up until this present day. My Mom still can barely talk about him without crying and recalling the Army officers pulling up to their home to inform them of his death when she was barely 16 years old. The draft terrified American families. People were angry about segregation. It was an unfair practice. It was also hurting American citizens directly. People are more likely to tolerate protests against what they perceive as suffering against their fellow citizens. Today's campus protests don't share those characteristics.

They interfered in a college graduation today.

They blocked access to campus at colleges around the country.

These protests are actually reviving segregation. They are blocking Jewish students from attending class and enjoying campus life. The reason behind this? Israel retaliating against Palestine for the tragic events of October 7. These protests are asking American citizens to tolerate missing once in a lifetime events and disrupting their day over a group of people an ocean away who continue to elect a government headed by terrorists. Americans either stand with Israel or they recognize disputes in the Middle East are a tale as old as time and robbing their kid of graduation or blocking the road when they go to work is not going to solve it.

Americans are over it. They associate all of the ill effects of these protests to the Democratic party. I am not one to try to stop my enemy when they are hanging themselves, but this is very bad for Joe Biden. It's too bad so many families are losing priceless memories because Leftists refuse to learn a lesson.
