I am a proud Floridian. I am one of those rare people actually born in Orlando, Florida. I did not move here for weather or Disney. I have always been here. My Mom is the most hard core of Floridians. She is a 'conch'. This is the name given to Floridians born in Key West. My children are the fifth generation of our family to be born in Florida. There are many reasons I am proud of Florida. The beautiful weather, the gorgeous beaches, the family entertainment and the lovely people. Today, I have another reason to be proud. While some Jewish college and university students around the country are living in fear for their lives, Jewish students are commemorating Passover in grand fashion in Florida.
A tale of two states.

What a beautiful sight!
At Columbia, Jews have to flee the campus for their own safety on the first night of Passover. Meanwhile, at University of Florida, they’re having a Seder for 1200 in the basketball arena.

No terrorist encampments on Ben Sasse’s campus or in Ron DeSantis’s state! https://t.co/ee79Kj0Sxs
Thanks to the steady leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis and University President Ben Sasse, all students feel safe to practice their religious traditions. As it should be in America.
It is not lost on people that while both sides have issues with antisemitism, these mobs and the accompanying harassment is only really occurring in areas dominated by radical progressives. https://t.co/Ohll3dioJH

It's easy to see why New York is emptying into Florida.
🎯🎯🎯 I'm so proud to live in FL, and I'm not even Jewish! I love my free state, where wishing death upon a group of people is considered wrong. https://t.co/lATOE25HgG

No surprise. This kind of thing has been going on for some time. Remember when NYC was cracking down on Jewish worshipers during the COVID-19 days?

Who can forget DeBlasio sending out personnel to peek in the windows of Jewish schools and homes to see if they were gathering?

Clearly people can only lead a normal and thriving life in Republican-controlled places.

That seems to be the only places people can live in peace. Don't forget to vote and do not skip any elections.
